Abstract

A case-report was presented as in incidence of bacteraemia due to S-typhi murium during the treatment of ulcerative colitis. The major symptoms consisted of thirst, vomiting, generalized fatigue and huskiness.
The diagnosis was made by bacteriological blood culture to find S-typhi murium. Generally, S-typhi murium may cause an acute gastroenteritis without any thphoid symptom in man, and in the past only several cases were reported in Japan. In this paper the detailed description was made as to clinical findings and bacteriological procedures.
