Abstract

The pharmacokinetics of hydrocortisone succinate were studied in four patients who were on rifampicin (group hydrocortisone+RFP). The maximum plasma concentration of cortisol (hydrocortisone) in group (hydrocortisone+RFP) was as low as 40% of that in control patients (group hydrocortisone). The difference in area under curve (AUC) and plasma half life between group (hydrocortisone + RFP) and group (hydrocortisone) was statistically non-significant.
