Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discuss how Portfolio-based language learning affects the students' attitude and their interests toward English learning. In this paper, we use the term "portfolio" in order to refer to all kinds of resources and works which students undertake throughout the classroom activities, especially note-taking. Research was conducted by analyzing the students' responses toward the questionnaires (at the beginning and the end of the semester). The findings of this research are 1) that this language learning encourages the students to learn English more positively and eagerly, 2) that the students can feel more comfortable, due to the self-learning system, and 3) that they are able to reinforce their understandings of English because of the note-taking and the correct feedbacks from the teachers.
