Temperature measurement techniques for a practical combustion chamber liner wall were investigated. Fourteen methods of sheathed thermocouple installations on the thin stainless steel plates smulating a combustor liner wall were tested by flowing a hot gas along the one side and the cold air along the other side. It has found that the Reynolds numbers of the hot and the cold stream have no significant influence on the errors but the every installation method has their particualr characteristics for the accuracy of the measurements. It was also found that the radiative measurement of the black coated wall may cause a signficant error because there occurs a big temperature gradient accross the coating layer.
