A direct numerical simulation of particle motion in horizontal pneumatic lines was carried out using a computer by considering the collision between he particle and the wall and that between particles. The collision between the particles was dealt with by sing the influence region for each particle. The influence upon the flow pattern of particles of air velocity, solid loading, heterogeneousness of the particle size and feeding manner of the solid were examined. the heterogeneous flow was formed when the collision between the particles was considered in the case of different sized particles.
