In the foregoing paper, an analysis was made on the fundamental performance of a two-phase flow screw expander that retrieves the expansion work of the throttling valves of heatpump and refrigerator. In this report, the analytical results were compared with experimental results of a screw expander. The experiments were carried out at a suction pressure of 1.588 MPa and an exhaust pressure of 0.490 MPa. The experimental parameters are the subcool temperature 2 to 12 K and rotor revolution 500 to 3000 rpm. In addition to these values, pressure variations in the expander were measured during its expansion process by using four pressure sensors to obtain indicator diagrams. The results showed that the rotor revolution and the leakage in the expander have great effect on the effective efficiency and the flow rate of the screw expander and the analytical results were shown to coincide with the experimental results.
