In the process of nucleation and condensation with chemical reactions, the molecular condensation by van der Waals forces is interacted with chemical reactions which makes the process extensively complicated. In the present study, nucleation and condensation processes with chemical reactions are experimentally investigated with the method of rarefaction waves in a shock tube by using H2O / (Ar, N2), SO2 / H2O / (Ar, N2), CO2 / H2O / (Ar, N2) systems. The time history of the size distribution of condensate drops is measured by the light scattering method of a He-Ne laser beam. The results show that the chemical reactions should always reduce the nucleation process and the drop growth and shift the size distribution to smaller drops.
