Recently, the fabrication and applications of functional nanodevices designed by nanotechnology have become of major interests in novel information-processing fields. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) also have attracted much attention due not only to wire-like morphology but also to data-processing features. We successfully developed CNT composite papers that can demonstrate inherent functions of CNTs in the paper-like form. The fabrication method is based on a traditional paper-making style for Japanese washi paper. In this report, we describe general functions of CNTs, how to make our CNT-composite papers, and their applications to data authentication systems.
