Abstract
Garlic cv.“Fukuchi howaito” showing mosaic symptoms on leaves, were collected in Aomori prefecture. And the detection of garlic latent virus (GLV) from these plants were carried out by inoculation test and dot immunobinding assay (DIBA).All Fukuchi howaito tested were not infected with GLV. Several cultivars of garlic collected from southwestern parts of Japan were found to be infected with GLV. GLV in Rakkyo (Allium chinense) produced necrotic and chlorotic local lesions on Chenopodium amarnticolor, C. quinoa, Tetragonia expansa and broad bean.
