CHRONIC DYSFUNCTION OF MECHANICAL PROSTHETIC VALVE : -REPORT OF TWO CASES-

Abstract

Two patients with the thrombosed Björk-Shiley prosthesis due to imcomplete anticoagulant therapy underwent successfull re-placement of the prosthetic valve accompanying with tricuspid annuloplasty. Prosthetic valve dysfunction occurred at 6 and 11 years, respectively, after the first operation. We report these patients since chronic dysfunction of the mechanical prosthetic valve is relatively rare.
