To explore the feasibility of medical record of Gunma University and International Classification of Primary Care (ICPC), we investigated the the analysis of the out-patients' record in General Medicine of Gunma University Hospital. Study design is a cohort of 551 patients from the General Medicine at Gunma University. The pattern of hospital visit was applied ICPC codes for primary diagnosis. Classification of age, sex, chief complaint and introduced department were analyzed. Female dominant tendency was observed from out-patients' records. The most frequent complaint was headache through examined 5 years. Kinds of pain such as headache, abdominal pain, chest pain, lumbago, back pain are mostly occupied in the top ten of chief complaints. Applying the ICPC codes, dominant reasons for encounter showed digestive, circulatory, musculoskeletal, neurological diseases. Record analysis with ICPC is a useful method for studying the effective analysis of General Medicine in Gunma and might suggest interesting hypothesis for further investigation.
