A new locality of Dicranum polysetum Sw. was reported from Hiroshima Pref., SW of Japan. Morphological features of this species were noted on the basal leaf-margins, which were proved to be narrowly incurved and thickened into 2-4-layers. They were described as "recurved" in many manuals but Ireland (1982) observed them accurately as "incurved."
