This study aims to re-examine the need for discussion in primary school learning and effective introductions. Therefore, I compared learning through discussion with learning through listening opposition claims, and analyzed their differences in cognitive and affective dimensions.
As a result, I suggest three necessary points for discussion primary school students. (1) Students can adopt discussed opinions to organize and develop their own ideas; (2) students can improve their thinking skills through discussion experiences; and (3) discussions offer students opportunities to foster cooperative attitudes and respect for each other's opinions. The essential practice points are : (1) Learn the importance of asking questions, approval, and creating new ideas in discussions; (2) think flexibly; (3) reflect on their own discussions, and (4) improve their attitudes towards co-inquiry.
