We observed maternal care behavior in two acanthosomatid species, Elasmucha japonica (Esaki et Ishihara, 1950) and Acanthosoma forficula Jakovlev, 1880. The former bred on Schima wallichii and the latter on Carpinus laxiflora. In the both species, females straddled clutches on the host leaves, and when disturbed, they displayed aggressive responses, such as tilting the body against the source of disturbance.
