Abstract
An econometric analysis of the production structure of sericultural farming was carried out by applying Hayashi's quantification theory IV and multiple regression analysis. As a result, the differences in the production structure caused by the differences in the price of production factors, substitutinal relations between production and differences in important aspects of the cocoon production expenditures among different sericultural farms, etc. were clarified. For the improvement of sericultural farming, it is essential to decvease the cost of labor. Especially, the time devoted to plowing, fertilization, cultivation and weeding in mulberry fields as well silkworm vearing should be reduced. It was demonstrated that the prevention and control of plant pests and harvesting of cocoons should be carefully executed.
