Abstract
The effects of tetrakis [methylene-3- (3, 5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) propionyloxy] methane (AO-60) as an additive on the dynamic mechanical spectra of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) were investigated. The crystals with various shapes, such as monoclinic, lamella, needle, and imperfect crystals, were developed by heat-treatment. The chain molecules of CPE are still left in these crystals. On the other hand, a new mechanical relaxation, which is attributed to the hydrogen bonding between CPE and AO-60, were found to be reduced during the crystallization process of AO-60.
