In the Bol'shoy Kavkaz Mountains and their adjacent northern low mountain areas there occur two taxa of the genus Pieris (Pieridae), caucasica Lorcovic and suffusa Sheljuzhko. Based on morphological and ecological characteristics, they are here recognized as two good species with the scientific names of P. bryoniae caucasica and P. pseudorapae suffusa, respectively.
