Abstract
In the summer of 2007, we captured a Japanese lesser noctule bat, Nyctalus furvus, and a Japanese northern bat, Eptesicus japonensis, in a forest in Iida City, Nagano Prefecture. These records for N. furvus and E. japonensis are the first and fourth from Nagano Prefecture, respectively. Echolocation calls of N. furvus vocalized before flying could be categorized as of the FM type.
