Abstract

School mathematics is now being prompted from its own circumstances for its dramatic innovations. While Japanese students dislike mathematics, mathematics has come to be increasingly put into practical use in various fields in society. We consider the coming mathematics education from the viewpoint of computer science which has never disregarded the interests of, while greatly influencing, the development of mathematics. Here, let us examine pupils' approaches to solving problems by picking up algorithms in particular.
