Abstract

A nano-fiber cloth with metallic magnetic material coating was fabricated and its effectiveness for electromagnetic wave shielding was evaluated. The cloth with an average diameter of about 500 nm was created by electrospinning, and the metallic magnetic material was coated by sputtering on the cloth surface. The electromagnetic wave shielding effect of the cloth with the metallic magnetic material coating was about 90% in the GHz band. Furthermore, when four cloths were piled on top of each other, the electromagnetic wave shielding effect was about 99%. The cloth has thin, light, flexible, and breathable characteristics, and will be capable of use in various electromagnetic wave shielding applications.
