In this study, the influence of the Pt content in a perpendicular anisotropy master medium (PAMM) on the bit printing characteristics was investigated through experiments and simulation. As a result, the most excellent printing characteristics were obtained with a Pt content of 10% to 20%. This result could be explained by the fact that the anisotropy and the saturation magnetization corresponded to the Pt content of the PAMM. The optimum printing field of the PAMM was about 1kOe smaller than that of a pure Co or conventional master medium.
