Abstract
Flows around a rotating square cylinder are analyzed numerically and experimentally. In the numerical analysis, a moving grid system is installed, and CD, CL and flow patterns are analyzed for several different values of Reynolds number and rotating angular velocities. Synchronization phenomena are found between vortex shedding and the rotation of cylinder. Flow visualization is carried out and stream lines from the experimental results show good agreement with the computational results.
