抄録

Genji Monogatari is presumed to have been based on the idea borrowed from the story of "Yamato Takeru-no-Mikoto" in Kojiki. The "Kishu-Ryuri-Tan" of Yamato Takeru-no-Mikoto " consists of two battle stories: the first part is "the westward expedition" and the second is "the eastward expedition," The whole story is completed with the descriptions of those expeditions repeated. The world of Hikaru Genji can not be regarded as a completed work without the second part. I've also pointed out that " Uji Jujo " was written on the basis of "Ujiwaki Iratsuko" in Kojiki and its theme seems to go against that of the principal part of the books.
