A comparison of the rate constants (kobs) of the chemical reactions which occure after the electrochemical oxidation of chlorpromazine (CPZ) to CPZ cation radical (CPZ) in various supporting electrolyte solutions was made. In solutions containing bivalent anions (such as phosphate, sttccinate and glutarate solutions)the kobs's obtained by rotating disk voltammetry were larger than those in solutions containing monovalent anions (like an acetate solution). The rate constant depended on the structure of the anion.
