Abstract
Most substances responsible for contact dermatitis are composed of organic compounds. However there is no rule governing the relationship between the chemical formulae of dermatitis-producing substances and mechanisms of contact dermatitis. But there is no denying that there is a close relationship in this respect. In this report, the conceptional diagram of organic compounds of Dr. A. Fujiia was tested. Many substances, known chemically and responsible for contact dermatitis were located in the diagram. The author proposed the photo-sensitizing substance area, carcinogenic substance area, cell-damaging substance area, organic active substance area, inorganic active substance area, the area of substances which have organic and inorganic properties and the border line of sensitizing substances. The substances respobsible for difolatan dermatitis were located in the diagram and the relationship between the location of these substances in the diagram and irritation dermatitis, photo-toxic dermatitis and photo-allergic dermatitis was analyzed. These substances were located in agreement with the proposed areas in the diagram.
