Among 844 out-patients visiting the Saga prefectural Hospital for the past six months (from Oct. 16th, 1968 to Apr. 15th, 1969), 25 cases of bone tumors were diagnosed radiologically and cyto-histologically.
25 cases of bone tumors consists of 11 cases of carcinoma metastatic to bone, 2 cases of reticulosarcoma metastatic to bone, 7 cases of cartilaginous exostosis including 1 case of secondary chondrosarcoma, 2 cases of multiple myeloma, 1 case of chondroblastic osteogenic sarcoma, 1 case of monostotic fibrous dysplasia and 1 case of leukemia?, and so on.
Chiefly, our observations centered around the diagnostic study of those bone tumors.
It is suggested that the cytological examination through the bone marrow aspiration is very valuable for the early diagnosis of the malignant bone tumors.
