We prefer lumbar discography rather than myelography or epidurography in the routin radiologic investigation of intervertebral disc disease.
This paper is based on the discographic study of 36 discus, 16 cases of spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis.
Discogram were graded (I to V) for the evaluation.
The results are summerized as follows:
1) The degree of the degeneration of the disc is proportionate to the resistance of the disc to injektion and the respans of pain of the patient.
2) The average degree of degeneration of the affected disc is 2.5 in spondylolysis and 4.5 in spondylolisthesis.
3) In spondylolysis hight degree of degeneration shows after fourth decades.
4) In spondylolisthesis hight degree of degeneration shows in all cases and combined others disc.
