Abstract

The authors experienced three cases of pigmented villonodular synovitis of the knee, which were diagnosed histologically. One of them, 18-year-old female, was complicated with haemangioma in the ankle joint, suggesting that the lesion would be better named as “angiodysplastic synovial hamartoma”.
All patients were operated successfully with synovectomy, and there are no evidences of local recurrence.
