Abstract
The preoperative myelographic findings of 131 patients operated for cervical osteochondrosis (105 operated by anterior fusion, 24 by laminectomy and 8 by foraminotomy) were compared with postoperative myelographic findings.
There is generally a satisfactory correlation between the postoperative myelographic findings and the improvement of the clinical status of these patients.
Both anterior fusior and laminectomy showed excellent or good improvement (more than 80%) of postoperative myelographic findings. It is necessary for getting satisfactory findings of post-operative myelography in anterior fusion to remove the posterior osteophytes and to correct alignment of the cervical spine.
