A half of the new type of a KU compression plate has slots alone for screws seated in bone to slide to maintain the apposition of the fragments even when the bone absorption occurs at the ends of the fragments.
The middle part of the plate should be bent to elevate from the bone surface slightly, otherwise the angulation of the fracture site to the opposite side will occur following the tightening of the screws in the sliding slots.
The bone cortex under the half of the plate with the sliding slots should be thick enough not to break following the tightening of the screws.
