From April in 1975 to June in 1979, 74 cases of the femoral neck fracture were treated in the Red Cross Hospital of Fukuoka.
The type of the fractures were; 23 medial and 51 lateral fractures.
Compression hip screw was used in 7 cases of 23 medial fractures and 21 of 51 lateral fractures. At an average follow-up of some 2 years, the rate of good result was about 80%.
