In Kitasato University Hospital, the renal transplantations over one hundred cases have been carried out since 1972.
In this series, fifteen cases of avascular necrosis of bone were complicated with or without surgical treatments.
Five cases of them have been managed conservatively.
Following up the progress of the femoral head deformity, two types of collapse were observed. One is the progressively collapsed head which has inisially severe pain but less severe later. Another is the non-collapsed or minimal deformed head which has also clinically good course.
