The medial longitudinal arch of the 331 feet of 166 infants between the ages of one year and five years were radiologically examined. They were radiographed in the standing position.
Talo-calcaneal angle and talo-1st metatarsal angle were measured in the anteroposterior projection, whereas talo-calcaneal angle, talo-1st metatarsal angle and calcaneal angle were measured in the lateral projection.
The result indicates that the medial longituinal arch of the foot rises progressively between one and five years.
