We restored the elbow extension power by posterior deltoid to triceps transfer (Moberg's method). Eight extremities in five functional C6 quadriplegic patients were operated by this procedure. According to the grading system of 0 to 5 points the average preoperative elbow extension power was 0.37. After surgery the average point increased to 3.6 at follow-up.
One extremity showed deep wound infection and rupture of the grafted tendon with poor results.
But most patients were satisfied and improved in their activities of daily living.
