The effect of calcitonin on the growth cartilage of rats with HEBP induced rickets was studied. In the hypertrophic zone, calcification by T3 occurred in the maturing zone. On the other hand, calcification induced by calcitonin occurred in the calcifying zone in which calcification takes place in natural course.
