The purpose of this study is to find out which factors are mainly responsible for the dynamic changes of the anterior arch of the foot during walking.
The dynamic changes of the anterior arch were measured using an electric conductible gum, which changes its electical resistance on expanding. The dynamic changes of the anterior arch, ground reaction forces and foot switch signals were recorded simultaneously.
As the results of this experiment, it was found out that the dynamic changes of the anterior arch of the foot was mainly affected by the vertical component of the ground reaction force, and also the contact point of the forefoot to the floor.
