We evaluated the clinical and radiographic results of total knee arthroplasty in 20 cases using the Bisurface type (KU-3) system in compasison with 21 cases using the MG-II system.
In the cases using the KU-3 system, the mean JOA score improved from 57.0 to 89.1 points, and the mean flexion angle improved from 116.1° to 130.0°. On the other hand, in the cases using the MG-II system, the mean JOA score improved from 56.3 to 84.8 points, and the mean flexion angle deteriorated from 121.7° to 117.3°
The cases using the KU-3 system were more satisfactory than the cases using the MG-II system because of improvement in daily living from improved range of motion in the knee joint.
