The cell wall of Flavobacterium arborescens IFO 3750 contained 6-deoxy-L-talose. In the cell wall the peptide moiety of the peptidoglycan possessed alanine, glycine, lysine, glutamic acid (plus 3-hydroxyglutamic acid) and homoserine (ratio; 1:3:1:1:1). The polysaccharide in the cell wall was composed of galactose, mannose, 6-deoxy-L-talose and glucosamine (ratio; 2:1:1:1).
