In Japan, there are large agricultural corporations that succeed in reducing coordination failures in the organizations by introducing ICT-based production management systems. Using an organization theoretic model, the present study analyzes how agricultural corporations should design their agricultural production management as the importance of coordination between their managers and employees increases. The study elucidates that agricultural corporations should determine whether to strengthen the dependency of their agricultural production management on the production environment, conditional on the amount of work and roles assigned to the employees, and the opportunities and abilities for the managers and employees to communicate correctly.
