Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether psychological factors hinder or accelerate the flow of internal migration. In this study, we attempted to quantify the psychic factors by individual values by using the results of the World Value Survey (WVS). We noted the following two points based on the characteristics of internal migration in Turkey. First, females’ migration is often for subordinate reasons. Second, ethnic factors can affect the determination of migration. The main outcome is that exclusivity formed by psychological factors have a positive effect to internal migration. Factors considered to be psychic factors were not found to hinder migration flow in Turkey.
