Abstract
The Gil. vestibulares nasi of cats were observed cytologically and cytochemically before and after adrenalin injection. The vacuoles, which have no stainability with iron hematoxylin and exist in the luminal cytoplasm in the control case, decrease in the five minutes case and then increase in the twenty minutes case after injection.
The PAS positive, coarse granules, appear in the luminal cytoplasm in the five minutes case after injection as compared with the control. In the twenty minutes case above mentioned granules disappear.
The alkaline phosphatase activity in the luminal cytoplasm increases in the five minutes case after injection as compared with the control. In the twenty minutes case after injection the activity of the terminal extension of the cytoplasm is the strongest.
No difference of the activity o f acid phosphatase is observed before and after pilocarpine injection.
In the five minutes case after injection the stainability of nucleoli with thionin increases and the pigment granules with capsules of RNA appear in the luminal cytoplasm. In the twenty minutes case, after injection, the stainability of the side of and above the nucleus increases. In the five minutes case, after injection, the stainability b y the Hg-BPB method in the base of cells increases. In the twenty minutes case, after injection, the stainability of the myoepithelium increases.
