If club activities in technical colleges in Japan are not the means of health maintenance and physical strength improvement but a part of humanistic education, the role of the coach has to be different from the role of a coach of a private sport club. In technical colleges in Japan coaches are asked to play a role that educates teenagers to become adults who are cooperative, sociabile, altruistic, making effort, and provide leadership through the coaching to train good athletes. By using questionnaires for soccer club students, we discuss how the advising teachers in club activities in technical college actually do play this role.
