(010) oriented poly-crystalline BaTi2O5 with co-substitution of CaO and ZrO2 (BCT2Z) was prepared by arc-melting. The effect of CaO and ZrO2 co-substitution on the crystal structure and dielectric properties of BaTi2O5 (BT2) were investigated by XRD and AC impedance spectroscopy, respectively. The permittivity of polycrystalline BCT2Z increased from 2760 to 6230 with increasing the concentration of CaO (x) from 0 to 0.02. The Curie temperatures (Tc) of polycrystalline BaTi2O5 decreased from 750 to 716 K with increasing x from 0 to 0.20. The electrical conductivity of BCT2Z had a linear relationship with temperature in the Arrhenius format and slightly lower than that of BT2. The dielectric loss of substituted specimens was almost the same as that of poly-crystalline BT2 at low temperatures and was lower than that of BT2 at higher than 600 K.
