Developing psychological interventions to reduce prejudice, particularly toward specific groups, is essential. This study replicated the findings of Shimizu et al. (2021), which showed the positive impact of portraying non-stereotypical images of gamblers (i.e., recreational gamblers) on implicit attitudes. Using a single-category implicit association test (SC-IAT) in an online experiment with a crowdsourced sample (N = 118), we assessed participants’ implicit attitudes before and after exposure to vignettes depicting either recreational or pathological gamblers. The results showed no significant differences between the groups, and no meaningful changes in implicit attitudes after exposure to the recreational gambler vignette.
