Abstract
Since the release of the photo-quality inkjet printer PM-700C, our company has worked hard to evolve and popularize inkjet printers, with the goal of catching up with and surpassing silver halide photography. As a result, we succeeded in replacing silver halide photography for home use around the year 2000, and since then we have developed a variety of new technologies with the next goal of getting inkjet accepted for commercial use as well. This paper has explained the various measures that our company has taken as a pioneer before inkjet became a representative photographic printer technology used in all markets.
