Silver halide crystals are the functional centers, in other words, the “engines”, of silver halide photographic materials. The process of manufacturing silver halide crystals comprises many technologies that control crystal size, shape, halide composition, and other essential aspects. With a focus on the manufacture of several silver halide crystals, development of recent technologies are reviewed and discussed.
