Chemical Properties of Blood Group Le^a- and Le^b- Active Substances Isolated from Human Urine

Abstract

The molecular weights of the Le^a- and Le^b-active substances in human urine may be close to 12, 000 daltons according to the gel filtration analysis. Most of the fucose liberated by the mild acid hydrolysis may take an important role in the Lewis activities.
