Abstract
The hydrolysis rate constants of cyclo-penta-, cyclo-hexa-, linear penta- and hexaphosphate significantly increased with the increase in the concentration of the added aluminum(III) ions. From the Al3+ ion concentration dependence of the rate constants, the individual rate constants of the complexes formed between aluminum(III) ion and the condensed phosphate oligomers were estimated. The complex formations caused the increase in the hydrolysis rates.
