Abstract

In this paper, some Miocene mollusca are described, which were collected by S. Izau and. M. KATAYAMA from the Kurosawa beds and the Sugota beds exposed near Yokote town, Akita prefecture. Of these mollusca, Nucula akitana, Lucina izirii, Macoma izirii, Tellina? wagaensis, Sanguinolaria uwadokoi, Pholadomya m-katayamai, Pandora nomurai, Buccinum kuratai are new species and subspecies described here. From the palaeontological view point the writer concludes that the fauna of the Kurosawa beds may be older than the Onma-Manganzi fauna, and younger than the fauna of the Sugota beds.
