This study investigated interaction between multiple processes in human memory. I analysed an effect of repetition of the same semantic priming task on the speed of reaction time (RT) and recollection ratio of stimulus pairs. Three kinds of a prime-target pair were used: identical, semantically related and unrelated. All eight subjects parcipated in the six experiments once a week lasting six weeks. The subjects were asked to name each target picture as rapidly as possible. Before the RT task, they were asked to recollect the stimulus pairs in the last experiment. The naming RT, the number of recollected pairs and the length of run in relation to presentation order of the stimulus pair were analysed. The length of recollected run became longer and RT became shorter along with the repetition of the experiment. However, significant RT difference among the three stimulus conditions were constantly observed in all of the six experiments. The results suggest that paired-association processes does not influence on the priming effects.
